Journalism

I began my journey in journalism back in 2020, when I joined The BG News as the Opinion Editor in Bowling Green, Ohio. In the role, I wrote weekly editorial pieces about popular culture, current event, and politics. After about a year in that role, I shifted into the role of Lifestyle Content Director for Falcon Media. As the Lifestyle Content Director, I oversaw lifestyle content for Falcon Media, involving assisting reporters in finding stories, ensuring lifestyle content was posted to the Falcon Media website, and continuing to write editorial pieces.

After graduating from college, I accepted a position as a news producer at WTOL 11 and FOX 36 in Toledo, Ohio. For my first year, I was the producer of the FOX 36 morning shows, running from 7 AM to 9 AM. After a year, I shifted into the role of the 10 PM producer. As a news producer, I was in charge of selecting and ordering stories, writing scripts, selecting video, and formulating blocking to best showcase the stories and corresponding video.

In 2025, I moved to El Paso, Texas where I accepted a new position as a news producer at KVIA ABC-7. This is my current role, where I produce our primetime 6 PM and 10 PM shows. In addition to producing both shows, I also regularly write articles for our website, as well as post on social media and send push alerts.

Harry Styles makes history on the cover of Vogue

On Nov. 13 2020, Harry Styles made history by becoming the first man to ever appear on the cover of Vogue solo. While this was an incredible win not only for Styles, but for Vogue as well, many people across America were not having it. And it wasn’t because Styles was on the cover alone. It’s because on the cover, he’s wearing a dress.

Styles is no stranger to breaking gender roles and stereotypes. Earlier this year, the singer posed for Beauty Papers, a magazine based out of London. In one of

“I’m Speaking.”

This quote from Kamala Harris was one of the best things to come out of the 2020 Vice Presidential Debate between Vice President Mike Pence and the California senator. But, the fly landing on Pence’s head is definitely an honorable mention.

Pence seemed to follow Trump in suit with his debate tactics last week. Those tactics being, paying no regard to the predetermined and agreed to debate rules, as well as interrupting not only Harris, but debate moderator Susan Page as well.

However, Harris

Opinion: Greek life should be banned

Recently, our university has made the decision to suspend Delta Chi and Phi Delta Theta, two fraternities from Greek life, because of alleged hazing and underage drinking.

Greek life. Hazing. Underage drinking. If you find one of those words somewhere, you’re sure to find the other two if you just read a little bit further. The reason? Because the three are connected at their core. When you think of one you almost immediately think of the other.

Despite this however, Greek life is a huge part

TikTok promotes toxic beauty standards

TikTok has quickly become one the biggest social media platforms in the past few years. As of October 2020, the app has almost 700 million users.

The app has gained traction, especially with young people, because of its curated algorithm. The app takes in videos you like, comment on, share and stay on longer to perfectly curate the content you see to your specific tastes and interests.

Despite this specific algorithm however, the app still seems to have it’s own predetermined videos that it pu

Alternative period products: Manage your period a little differently

Managing your period can be difficult no matter what. From cramps to headaches and especially the bleeding — it can be a lot. Another thing that can be difficult is finding the right way to deal with your menstrual bleeding.

For a long time, dealing with menstrual bleeding was pretty cut-and-dry. You had pads and tampons, and in dire situations, a wadded up piece of toilet paper. However, as we’ve advanced our knowledge of menstrual bleeding as a society, we have been able to advance our techno

The first presidential debate of 2020 was an embarrassment

It’s no surprise that the first 2020 Presidential Debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden didn’t go well. Given the fact that politics in America have become incredibly polarized and full of hate, coupled with the fact that Donald Trump was a part of it, it was bound to go wrong.

There might as well have not been a moderator. The questions were very rarely answered, and even when they were, the candidates exceeded their given amount of time, which doesn’t really matter anyway, because they ju

One of my favorite places for dates in Bowling Green is actually on campus. On
